How to enjoy an MMORPG

Image result for tera screenshots

Never focus on the numbers.
They can be experience bar, character level, item level, damage per second, gold etc.
It will make you anxious, and at a point you will start to get bored of the game extremely fast.
Grinding in a MMORPG is the worst thing you can do. Killing the same monster over and over is boring and no one wants to do that.
Always do something
You can open the map and look where there are quests.
Usually games provide a set of dailies, so you will probably never run out of content you can do.
If you feel like doing a dungeon or battleground you should queue right when you start your gaming session and continue doing something else to never wait.
It’s easy to find content you can do
The developers spent a ton of resources trying to figure out how to make people stick for as long as possible to their game. They made a clear path you can take and made sure you can discover most of the content by yourself.
First of all there is the leveling content, there are quests all over the map you can do.
Most of them have enjoyable story that you can get immersed in.
Leveling dungeons have a unique design and you can explore them without needing other people, same like leveling zones, you can go and make some great screenshots for your collection or to show to others.
The achievement system is something huge. Developers placed interesting things all over the game and gave up hints on how to find them through the achievement system. You will probably never run out of achievements any time soon. Only less than 1% of the game’s population probably has every single one of them so you will get a lot of time of fun out of them.
Making gold or other currencies
Getting gold is easy if you play the game a lot. As I mentioned before, never focus on that number, instead focus on the enjoyable gaming experience.
If you constantly do enjoyable stuff in the game, gold will come to you without any grind!
The secret to having more gold, is to never spend it, you can just think twice about stuff that you want to buy and you will probably double your total gold just by being aware on what you spend it on.
Have a few alts
Did you see how cool that new released class looks? You can create that type of character too!
Leveling new characters can be extremely fun, you can see what their spells are, what animations they have etc.
Always talk to other people
The point of the MMORPG genre is to socialize with people, so, just do it.
Is super easy to find someone to talk to, just go outside in the world, do something, and if you see someone, say “hi” and then ask how they are, tell them what you are trying to do etc.
Then ask them if you can add them to your friend list and BAM, you have a friend now.
And the next time you log on the game you can just look in your friend list and find people to talk to.
There are some times when people will be assholes, but try to avoid them.
The first time you will do this, it will be harder, maybe you will get one in five people to be on your playlist so don’t stress out about it.

The best deck for grinding the legend rank in Hearthstone: The Witchwood

Odd Paladin starting hand
Odd Paladin Mulligan

The deck is made out of the cards: Acherus Veteran, Argent Squire, Blessing of Might, Dire Mole, Glacial Shard, Lost in the Jungle, Righteous Protector, Divine Favor, 1x Ironbeak Owl, Tar Creeper, Unidentified Maul, Fungalmancer, Level Up!, Stormwind Champion, Vinecleaver and Baku the Mooneater.
The best agro deck in the game right now is the Odd Paladin. The deck is based around the card called Baku the Mooneater, a dragon that makes the hero power better. Instead of summoning one 1/1 minion for 2 mana, it summons two.
This is a really strong spell to have since the point of the deck is to always have the board full of minions all the time. It is usually spam this ability every single turn at least once, unless there is some big threat on the board or something similar.
The mulligan is simple too. The cards Righteous Protector, Dire Mole, Lost in the Jungle, Argent Squire need to be kept as first cards. If there are other cards, they should be discarded to hope for the good ones mentioned above.
Other cards are here to buff the huge minion board that can be developed. Acherus Veteran can give more attack to your minions, same like Unidentified Maul, can buff them with taunt or Divine Shield. Glacial Shard is there to protect the minions by freezing the big threats on the board or delaying an opponent weapon. Tar Creeper is a great taunt that can take a beating while dealing decent damage and forcing the opponent to trade badly. Level Up!, Blessing of Might, Fungalmancer, Stormwind Champion are all cards that buff both the health and attack of the board. The one Ironbeak Owl is there to help get through taunts. There is also a weapon that can help out to make some presence on the board while summoning two 1/1 minions. It is used to clear big taunt minions or go face. Divine Favor is also an important part of the deck. It helps the player fill out their hand if the opponent is greedy and plays a super slow deck and has a lot of cards. It really punishes those types of decks.
This deck is not that complicated to play. It can definitely help players get legend rank fast if the strategy to concede whenever there are bad boards of bad mulligans with two Level Up! cards and Baku the Mooneater in the starting hand.
This is also the best deck to grind the 10 gold every 3 wins if the player wants some extra packs for the next expansion.

Rerolling to Moon Dancer

I slacked a bit yesterday. I remembered to write another article after I put my head on the pillow. I want to make up for it today with two articles.
I started to question myself if I should reroll yesterday. I am in TERA for two major patches now. I played Priest for a year now. It looks like a huge step to reroll. It looks a bit scary. I think I will do it. The new Moon Dancer class looks amazing. I want to main a damage dealer class for a patch. I could do it with my little ninja before. I didn’t do anything to make it my main class. I don’t know why. Maybe it was the class.

TERA_ScreenShot_20170329_195311
I am going to start leveling from day one. I will start on 4th April. My strategy is simple. I want to level up as slow as possible. I really need to bond with my character. I need immersion to keep me going. Playing it a lot at the start is the only way. I want to do some of the achievements too this patch. I think I will first get to level 20 with quests, then win a Kumas battleground everyday for the 24 hour experience boost. After that I could just travel around and do some quests while in dungeon queues. I expect small queues with the new class. Even if I am a DPS. I remember during the ninja major patch, the queues were really fast.

I will first get the Island of Dawn quest done with the help of someone. I expect to get guile gear as a reward. Then I will go for a few three star dungeons to get the Guile 2 set. I am not prepared at all. The only thing that I have right now is Masterwork Alkahest and a few scrolls. So I will be staying Guile for a little while. I don’t mind actually. I want to not spend a lot of gold on it.

Trying out Final Fantasy XIV Free to Play

I wanted to check out the Final Fantasy MMO recently. I had no luck. I got it from Steam. All good, the game has 10 gigabytes. The speed is quite decent. After you open it you need to wait for another 20 gigabytes. It’s a mess. I tell you. Then the best part comes. You need a Square Enix account for it. I got two email addresses that I use. I was so unlucky while activating them. I got on both a 24 hour lock. I lost the drive to try that game. I was so hyped for it, it’s crazy.

I wish that the developers would make the games more user friendly. It is really annoying if I can’t install the game. If I remember correctly, this only happened to me once. Back in the day I got World of Warcraft on six CDs. After I installed it there was nothing on the box about updates. I had no idea what they were. And the game took a whole day to install on my PC. I seriously didn’t think it would work. But it did. And it’s been amazing. Now it’s 10 years later. This should seriously not happen. It is unacceptable for me. Everything should be casual friendly. Just like consoles are designed. This will bring more people into the game. It will be overall good.

tera-ruins

As for TERA updates, I got in a new guild recently. It is actually pushing for rank one in the contribution wars. I am quite happy about it. My old guild master is in vacation right now. She has a lot of stuff to do and most people left for a while in other guilds. I did that too. I hope she doesn’t get upset on me. Here is amazing. They do 15 dungeon quests and I like it that I am constantly asked to do stuff. Being on my own is a bit hard.

How to make gold in Hearthstone with minimal effort

I present to you the best Hearthstone gold guide ever. I wanted to make this guide like a sample. This is how my next big TERA guide might look will look like, or something similar. I will try to condense it as much as possible, but it will be bigger then this one. Exciting right? This is a big step forward to make this blog get a bit more popular.

hearthstone-gold-guidePDF: Hearthstone Gold Guide

I actually got inspired by a video title. I saw in my Youtube feed a long time ago a video called “How to make gold in World of Warcraft doing absolutely nothing” and I used it as an inspiration for the format. I always have a lot of trouble with other guides, that are packed with a lot of information and after I read them I end up more confused and I don’t know what to do. This is my view on how a guide should look like. I hope it is easy to follow for you like it is for me.

I played the new cooperative Tavern Brawl in Hearthstone today. I never saw this one yet. For me is new. You end up playing as a Rogue or a Druid and both of you tries to defeat a boss minion on the board. It is a really interesting concept. I wish I could make my own deck for it. I figured out the main mechanic of the game. As the Rogue, all you need to do is to give the Druid a ton of card draw. And as a druid is to create huge Jade minions and give the Rogue cards or copies of your healing spells. It is something fresh. I loved it. Enjoy.

TERA Leveling and Minecraft

I managed to get a few things done today. I went and took a lot of screenshots in TERA. Mainly I want them for the guide, but I could use some here. I will use one in this post to show you the resolution and all that. It was really fun. I jumped around from place to place, using my TERA Club Journal. I will miss this thing since the subscription will be gone in about 5 days. I managed to do the banner image too, I wrote a huge Magical Alice on top of a screenshot. I think it looks nice. But I guess there is a problem with the blog theme. It asks for a smaller image and then it stretches it on all the screen. Maybe is just on my monitor. I could change it if I find something better in the future.

TERA_ScreenShot_20170329_194546.png

I made some huge progress on my new TERA character. I got into the expansion content and I hope I finish her today. It doesn’t really depend on me. I mainly wait for other people to get home from work since it was planned from a long time. It was really fun, we played all the leveling content in three and it went quite well. I am usually the one that needs to grind mobs, sometimes, because I am behind. I usually try to get some people from my server into the party, you know, the ones that we find in the dungeon queue and help them out to get a faster queue experience. I made a new friend and overall is just great.

Another friend dragged me into Minecraft today. We made a fun challenge for it. We play the Vanilla version right now, you know, the classic one. There is a setting for the server that changes the size of the map. We went for a 100 x 100 blocks on the whole map. It is so much fun. You get to see a huge force field around that you can’t pass. You can never get lost and there are limited resources. I like to think about it like is something similar to the Skyblock map.

TERA Guide Updates

This is another update for the future TERA guide I will write. I looked around and did a bit of research on the subject. I mainly checked the World of Warcraft guides. I picked them because it is easier for me to know what their main focus is. I want to bring the promises they make to reality. I think I am able to do it. The only thing I am concerned about is procrastination. I mean there is so much stuff to do on this channel, for example I need to make a new banner in Photoshop and check out the settings. I have no idea how the comment system is set right now. It needs to be set so people don’t have to register on WordPress to post. There are many minor things like that. I will try to do them today if I am not lazy.

tera-velika.png

So my research lead to this table of contents for the guide. First of all everyone needs to know how to gear up their main characters. This will be followed by a PvP and PvE guide. If I was going to read something like this, I would want to know what are the most effective ways to do it. This guide also needs tips and tricks on how to make gold. You also need to know, after you have gold, how to use the Broker (Auction House) and not waste your hard earned gold while buying gear upgrades and other stuff that you want (like those nice costumes everyone secretly wants 😉 ). I would also give some tips on how to find a good guild that suits your play style. Let’s not forget the leveling process, I want to make a section on what is the best way to level up, and what is the laziest semi-afk way. Also this would be true for most of the sections . The guide will also have a part about alt characters, what gear they need and stuff related to them. I will also talk a bit about professions and maybe about the best way to set the UI.
It looks like a huge project but I think is doable. I did this before for another game, the only thing is that I want to make this one look professional. I got a few ideas on how to make the guide look cool.
In game, I was also doing some testing in TERA, got two friends to level together and chill. I currently leveling a new brawler so I can get the free Imperator gear set. I think I wrote this in the last post. And that is about it, see you all tomorrow. o/

TERA and organized PvP

I checked out TERA today. It is still my main MMORPG at this time. I am not sure if is TERA or Revelation Online because I didn’t play a lot. I sometimes play both. I sometimes don’t play any of them and just watch Youtube.
Let’s get to the point. I wanted to see how the world pvp is right now in the game. If you didn’t know already every single instanced pvp battleground has equalized gear. Which is good for this community. They wanted this. Everyone always asks the developers and cry on the forums about “balance” in this game. Is not that I agree with it, since gearing gives players a sense of progression. It is good because you always have something to work towards.

tera-mass-pvp.png
Right now, you can farm each week 200k Bellicarium Credits and 200k Killing Spree Credits. It is not a lot you can do on a single character. This can be achieved in 2 or 3 days of farming during the event that happens every night at 21:00 CET.
I don’t have the conflate gear yet. But I noticed a lot of the pvp community sits all the time in Velika Outskirts and just duels each other. There is something interesting that I saw and made me write this post. Sometimes they group up together and just start to do mass pvp. It reminds me a bit of Tarren Mill versus Hillsbrad. That is considered one of the best PvP experiences in World of Warcraft. It made me reconsider and I think I will try to get the Conflate gear too next patch. I am not sure which class I want yet, probably the new one.
Also I want to announce some big news today, I am planning to work on a complete TERA pdf guide. I just started to level another brawler so I don’t miss the bonus leveling month reward on my account and get the Imperator gear. I think I will start doing a lot of testing for the best methods of farming that I can include in the guide. I think it will come after the new patch, the one with the new Valkyrie class at the start of the next month.
